FAQ
Common Questions about Pallets
Do You Deliver?
Yes. Plain Pallets have 5 company owned trucks that cover Melbourne & regional Victoria daily. We pride ourselves on prompt & reliable delivery.
Can we Brand or Stencil our Pallets?
At Plain Pallets we can have a stencil designed to your specifications and stencil your branding design on your required pallets. This usually only costs a few cents per pallets.
Do you supply Recycled Pallets?
Plain Pallets actively address the shortage of hard wood supply in Victoria, through supplying Re-Claimed, Composite & Reconditioned Pallets. These recycled pallets are an effective alternative to new Pallets, which are generally softwood pine and thus have a shorter lifespan in the pallet pool. Hardwood Pallets are a superior product, stronger & more re-cycle friendly than it’s pine substitute.
Why Choose New Pallets?
Generally, when large weights are being transported (over 1.5tonne per pallet), we advise New Pallets for the job for extra strength. Our Re-Conditioned, Composite & Re-Claim Pallets are of uniform size & consistent quality. For further information view the individual pages or contact us on 1300 885 553.
What Export Pallet should I use?
This will depend on a number of factors starting with product size & weight through to delivery destination. Each Export Pallet has different attributes and more information can be found on our Export Pallets Page. You may also find that our range of Plastic Pallets available at Plain Pallets could also be a viable alternative.
Do you stock Plastic Pallets & why should I choose them?
Yes, we stock Plastic Pallets. Plastic Pallets make a cost effective alternative to long term re-usable pallets as they have a lifespan of approximately 10 years. Plain Pallets has further information regarding the benefits of Plastic Pallets on our Plastic Pallets Page.
What is ISPM15 standards and why is it relevant to Export Pallets?
ISPM15 is the International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures Publication No 15 – the guidelines for regulating Wood Packaging in International Trade. Its main purpose is to prevent the international transport & spread of disease & insects that could negatively affect plants & ecosystems. The standard affects all wood packaging material ( pallets, crates, dunnage (padding) etc) requiring that they be debarked & heat treated or fumigated and then branded with the ISPM15 mark of compliance. Plain Pallets ensure that all your export pallets meet these standards completely.
What happens if my pallets DON’T meet the ISPM15 standards?
If your goods arrive on pallets not marked by the ISPM15 brand or they show signs of infestation, then the importing country has two options:
-
Delivery is delayed whilst wood packaging material is treated or disposed of
-
Consignment is refused entry and goods are returned at your cost.
